In the articles section, you can read how the job of striping the car went and maybe help convince you to have your stripes or whatever you'd like to put on your car painted on. With 12 3/4" stripes, getting them to lay down smoothly on anything but the hood and roof, was a serious task. The only time I've had problems with the car was shortly after I bought it. Two weeks after I picked it up, the clutch disc shattered and it left me on the side of the road until we could trailer it back to the shop. Shortly after that, the front brakes were almost down to the metal and had to be replaced ASAP. The car had Bonez racing pads on it and I replaced them with a set of cheap parts-house brakes. The difference was phenomenal. I don't think I'll ever own another car without racing pads on it.

For the future, I do plan on installing a TII hood. Most of my driving is stop and go all day long and hopefully the scoop will act as a vent to help cool things down while sitting in traffic under the Florida sun. A turbo conversion is on my wish list, although so is a 20B conversion. I'll make up my mind once I get my 79 RX-7 here and on the road to drive while I work on the GTU. You can read about some of the modifications I've documented in the archive section. |
